About Fulfil Solutions

Fulfil Solutions is a stealth startup working on automation in the grocery industry. Fulfil is solving difficult automation challenges stemming from working with a variety of food products in new and innovative ways.

What I did at Fulfil

In the fall of 2022, I worked at Fulfil as a mechanical engineering coop working to assist in the design and bringup of various subsystems within Fulfils automation technology. I used a wide variety of hands-on and design skills to engineer solutions for other engineers and production team members.

Camera On Rails

I designed a camera on rails system for the newest version of Fulfils automation technology. The systems purpose was to move a depth camera over a desired location to remove camera occlusions.

This system contained two major subsystems; the structure and the motion system. The structure was comprised of sheet metal parts to form an overhanging surface to mount the motion components. The motion system utilized a stepper motor and linear rail to move and constrain the cameras position.

Safety for Next Generation Fulfil Technologies

I worked with lead engineers to conceptualize and design two safety systems for the next generation of Fulfil technologies. These two safety systems were the safety door (picture 1) and the safety window panel (video 2).

The safety door had multiple size and shape restrictions in conjunction with implementing an easily accessible electrical cabinet. The safety window panel was designed to be cheap and able to open and close remotely.
